Estes Park, CO – Sept. 7 – State wildlife officials are asking the public for tips on determining who poached a moose in the Estes Park area.
On Saturday, park wardens were notified of a dead cow moose — whose calf was crying nearby — in the area of High Creek Road, according to a Wednesday news release.
The cow moose was shot twice, likely from the road, presumably sometime between Friday afternoon and early Saturday morning, according to reports.
Anyone with information should call park personnel. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
