Drake, CO, Sept. 8 — That wasn’t extra padding a Larimer County resident saw on his toilet; that was a 4-foot snake coiled up and taking a snooze, deputies said.
Deputies said the man found the unexpected visitor Monday night when he went to the loo in his singlewide mobile home. Flipping on the light he saw the reptile on the toilet seat, the Greeley Enquirer reported Tuesday.
“There’s a big snake on my toilet,” he told deputies when they arrived at his trailer. The cops bagged the slithery reptile, which turned out to be venomous, and turned it over to the animal control authorities. Deputies say they understand the panic felt by the man. Officials said the snake may have worked its way into his bathroom through the plumbing. “Look, anytime you walk into your bathroom and find a big snake staring you in the eye, it’s going to spook you,” one deputy said.
