Paint Store Burglarized
Lake Neccudah, September 16 – Police responded to a burglar alarm at the Sherwin Williams paint store on Avenue E at 2:43 A.M. on Monday Morning. The back door had been pried open to gain entry.
Bob Snodgrass, store manager, arrived at the scene a little after 3;30, and accompanied officers into the building to do a quick inventory. “They tried to force the safe open, but were unsuccessful” Snodgrass told police. Frustrated by their lack of success the bandits opened several 5-gallon paint buckets and emptied them on the floor. Unfortunately for the thieves they literally painted themselves into a corner.
Police Chief Dan O’ Malley said “Catching the robbers will be easier with the painted footprint evidence on the floor and finger print evidence on the safe.”
Noisy Neighbor Turns it Down
Lake Neccudah, September 17 – A noisy animal complaint in the 200 block of E. Michigan Avenue at 11:15 p.m. turned out to be a lone male sitting in his car with the radio turned up very loud. After a conversation with the officer he turned off the radio and went in the house.
Driver Wanders off the Path
Lake Neccudah, September 19 – It was a hit and run accident of sorts in the 1700 block of Wales Drive. The vehicle was driving down a bike path when the driver went off the path and damaged a fence. He ran away on foot, but was captured. The driver, Harry Nolan, a 31-year-old transient was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving on a suspended license, careless driving and obstructing a police officer. The vehicle was towed and he went to jail.
